Abuja Moms Back To School Project
The Challenge
Over the past couple of years Abuja Moms Empowerment Foundation has been at the forefront of supporting low income families in Abuja. Unarguably, the school resumption month (September) is usually a difficult time for most low income/underserved parents in Nigeria due to the pressure of paying their children’s school fees and providing school essentials like school bags, new uniforms, school shoes, textbooks and other school essentials required for the start of a new session.
According to UNESCO, Nigeria has the highest Out –Of-School Children in Sub-Sahara-Africa of which the highest number lives here in the Northern part of Nigeria. As committed change makers and mothers we want to fill in the gap and be there for these children. So, every school resumption year we call for free will school bags and other school essentials donation from our members on the Abuja Moms social platform and other Individuals.
We are to glad to say that thousands of children living in the FCT has benefitted from the back to school project. With your support, we can bring about lasting change.
Our Impact
Since launching the Back to School Project, we have supported thousands of children across FCT with essential school supplies. We’ve successfully reduced school dropout rates in our target communities while relieving financial pressure on low-income families. Our efforts have created pathways for continuous education and built lasting relationships with local schools and communities.
What We Provide
Each supported child receives a comprehensive school package including school bags, new uniforms, school shoes, essential textbooks, stationery, learning materials, and additional school requirements based on individual needs.

Make a Difference Today
Together, we can ensure that no child in Abuja misses school due to lack of supplies. Every bag, every uniform, and every book brings us closer to our goal of universal education access.
Project Goals
Our mission is to ensure 100% school attendance in our target communities and eliminate financial barriers to basic education. We are committed to reducing the number of out-of-school children in Northern Nigeria through creating sustainable support systems for low-income families. Through our work, we aim to inspire community-wide participation in educational support initiatives.
